Our Journey.

  • Past.

Space Swap started as a community clothing swap in September of 2021 in the Eau Gallie Arts District.

This clothing swap grew into multiple festivals accompanied by local musicians and artists. The deeper purpose of these swap events was to raise awareness, funds, and donate clothing from the swaps to local non-profits.

Space Swap has fundraised with Community of Hope, WAYS for Life, and Kids Dig Gardening at local venues and businesses.

New Visions Full-Service Nursery in EGAD, Banana River Yard in Satellite Beach, and Rockledge Gardens have graciously hosted these community events.

As a completely grassroots start-up, we've sustained our mission through fundraising, sponsors, and collaboration with the community.

Through our in-house arts & music production, we provide a unique space for artists of all mediums to come together and the community to enjoy.

In June 2022, Space Swap acquired 501(c)(3) non-profit status. Space Swap’s mission to stitch the community together through sustainable fashion, music, and the arts continues.

We cultivated a safe space and culture at our brick-and-mortar, Space Swap Shop, from April 1st, 2023- January 8th, 2024. The shop is a community space and venue for artists to collaborate, incubate, and grow.

Space Swap Shop hosted Wellness Wednesdays for the part of our community seeking mental health resources. We are currently hosting music shows, art shows, community art-crafting events, and sewing classes.

We collected textile and clothing donations to help feed our mission of sustainability. We partnered with American Textile Recycling Services in Orlando, Florida. So far we have saved almost 5,000 pounds of textiles from going to the landfill.

We have collaborated with other local nonprofits WAYS for Life, Community of Hope, and New Life Mission giving clothing to families in need. We are able to continue this mission because of the wonderful support from the community.

  • Present.

    Back to our grass roots.

We have the opportunity to deepen our impact in the community by collaborating with other like-minded communities, businesses, and artists.

We are doing this through outreach, pop-ups, festivals, collaborative workshops, focusing on sustainability education, and providing resources for other topics that pique the curiosity of our community.

We will always create a safe space for artists to thrive.

We are excited to see where our collaborations and community take our mission. We are grateful to have an amazing community and excited for the future!

  • Future.

We have plans to “take our show on the road” i.e. go on tour!

Expect to see Space Swap events happen all over Brevard and beyond in 2024 & 2025! We are working on local, national, and international collaborations.

We plan to use our social media platform to connect with like minds all over the world. We can learn from one another and deepen our mission.

It makes sense that an organization created by nomadic artists couldn’t be contained in one place…
